Children ages 3 to 6 years participate in our primary program. Younger students learn from older classmates, while older students are academically challenged and gain leadership skills.

Students in the Primary environment learn actively in carefully prepared environments designed to provide freedom of movement and the ability to choose their activities. Guides observe each child’s readiness and mastery of lessons to guide them onward. The children learn at their own pace through self-correcting materials, observation, discovery and interaction. Group experiences are part of each day, building community while encouraging social skills. Students will explore the environment with focus on practical life, sensorial, language and mathematics.

Students in the Primary environment develop a love of their school community and of learning.

The students in the Primary Community attend class Monday-Friday 8:00am-11:45 am (half day) or Monday-Friday 8:00am-3:15pm (full day). Before and afterschool care are also available for an additional fee.
