Snow will be here soon, so please take a moment and review the snow shoveling schedule that was sent out at the beginning of the year so you know when it is your week. If you need the schedule emailed to you again, please contact the office and we will get that to you. When it is your week to shovel we ask that you come before school starts to shovel the sidewalks around the school and a path from the parking lot to the front door. There is an adult-sized shovel at the school. The staff begin arriving at 7:30, so if you need to shovel earlier you will need to bring your own shovel. If anyone has a truck with a plow and would like to volunteer to plow the school parking lot on snowy days, we would greatly appreciate the gesture. If you have any questions please call or email the school.
As the weather changes, please send appropriate outdoor clothing for your child in a back pack with all items labeled. We go outside everyday so your child needs to have appropriate clothing for the conditions. We ask that your child bring or wear the following items daily, during the fall, winter, and spring months: waterproof snow pants, heavy coat, hat, waterproof gloves or mittens, and snow boots. Please do not send your child in rain boots on snowy days. The snow typically gets in the rain boots and soaks the children’s feet. We also ask that your child brings a backpack in the winter to put their winter cloths inside so we don’t have loose gloves and hats in our hallways. Please label all of your child’s winter clothing; our lost and found box is typically overflowing during the winter months. It is also helpful to bring in an extra set of clothes for your child's box. Pants and shirts often get wet while playing in the snow and children often need to change after playing outside. -Thank you
