It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
"Of all things love is the most potent.” Maria Montessori
Welcome to the Holiday Season! As the holidays approach the excitement of the season energizes our souls. It reminds us to help others in whatever way we can. Your children will delight in being able to put a smile on the faces of others less fortunate while you help them start their own traditions of giving.
The upcoming Holiday Season is also great time for your children to help as you prepare for your own family’s traditions. Children love traditions and this is a great way to pass on your heritage to the next generation. Maria Montessori stated “The things he sees are not just remembered; they form a part of his soul.” At home, your children can help with decorating, food preparations, making and wrapping of gifts and making cards. This time of year also provides a lot of seasonal community events the whole family can attend as well as plenty of outdoor family fun opportunities. Whatever your family traditions are please include your children in as many of them as you can. These are the memories your child will have forever.
At school we will be participating in several “giving back to the community” activities. The classes will be collecting food for the Wyoming Food For Thought program to help out school children in the community. We will also be collecting new unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program. We are asking that parents bring a new unwrapped toy to the MSC Christmas party. The party is at the True River Cross Commons Building at 465 N. Poplar, and will be held on December 17th, at 6:00 PM. During the celebration, the children will do a little entertaining, bag the food for donation, and make an ornament to take home. There will also be goodies to munch on.
The gathering of friends and families and spirit of caring for others is something your child will be excited about and anticipate for years to come.
